1B LGI

On Sunday, September 28th, our house hosted the weekly Sunday evening gathering of the resident students. Currently, it is called LGI after the room that it meets in, but the students are working on coming up with a new name. We focused on prayer, forgiveness and being unified in the Resident Program. We played the numbers game as an icebreaker (run by Christina and Renee). Susy, Nelly, and Taehi led worship with the help of two of the guys, Renzo and Paul.


Then Nelly, Elizabeth, Susy, Cherry, Shirley, Ting, Alice, and Tracy did a choreographed dance to Avalon's Song, Forgive and Forget.


The girls put a lot of work into the dance and did a great job! Then Andrew spoke to the group about forgiveness, and how they can talk with God anytime they want. He used Jesus' prayer at the Garden of Gethsemane, and he challenged the students to be unified as group this year. I was very proud of my husband as he spoke and really engaged the students.


We then split the students up into four groups to visit different prayer stations. This station was praying for the world, specifically the nations represented by our students. As they prayed, they put their thumb print under the country that they were praying for.


At this station, students chose a rock with a student's name on it. They were to pray for that student, and they were encouraged to take the rock with them and continue to pray for the student throughout the week or longer.


At this station, students were asked to write prayer requests or a prayer to the Lord. They put it in a prayer box, and we distributed the requests to their houseparents later, so their houseparents could pray for them.


Here, the students could take papers with scripture written on them. They took some time to pray God's word to the Lord.


Our LGI went very well, and it was well received by the students. I was very proud of our girls. Afterwards, we celebrated with Pizza!
