Day Trip to Charleston

Our laptop needed be fixed (thankfully under warranty - yay!) and Charleston has the closest Apple Store. So we decided to make the day of it! It was a beautiful day!! After lunch and dropping off the computer, we walked through the market and then headed to Waterfront Park. It has this pretty pineapple fountain that people are allowed to swim in. We packed Micah's swimsuit for this occasion, and as soon as we got close to the fountain, Micah said "Water! Water! Swimming!!"


It took him a little while to warm up to the fountain...he did a lot of running to the edge and then running back to Mommy and Daddy, but eventually he made the plunge. It had gotten pretty hot by that point, so the water felt wonderful! Micah had fun walking around the fountain holding Mommy or Daddy's hand.

The fountain experience was also slightly unnerving...Micah liked to run around the outside of the fountain as fast as he could, causing Mommy (and many other observers I'm sure!) much anxiety! That boy is too fast for his own good, but thankfully there were no major falls.


Micah liked to touch the water that was flowing from the fountain, but only if he was being held by Mommy or Daddy! Mommy & Daddy got pretty wet from this activity, but we dried off pretty fast.

Before we left the park, Micah checked out the boats in Charleston Harbor. He ran from opening to opening in the fence, shouting "Boat! Boat!" It was very cute.


After getting dried off and changed at the park, we got "lost" wondering around Charleston, admiring the beautiful architecture. Charleston is also known for its unique wrought iron fences and window coverings.


Micah enjoyed walking through the streets of Charleston as well with his companion, Monkey. At one point, a bus came to a stop next to us, and Micah wanted to stop and watch the bus. When the bus started moving I told him, "Say bye-bye to the bus, Micah!" and he said "Bye-bye bus!" Several times throughout the afternoon we heard about how Micah said bye-bye to the bus! After a good dinner (where Micah was very well behaved despite being exhausted!) we headed home. It was a great day in Charleston!
