"Vacationing" with the Springers

Our neighbors and fellow houseparents, the Springers were in the area and were able to come to Lancaster for Micah's dedication. Since we are always telling them how much we love Lancaster, we decided to show them some of the sights during their visit. First, we took them to Herr's Potato Chip Factory where we learned how chips and pretzels are made. In addition to the sample bag that Micah's enjoying in the picture, we also got to try some of the hot chips right of the line. They were delicious!

Next, we had a delicious lunch at Wasabi, a wonderful Japanese & Thai restaurant in Willow Street. After lunch, we took a drive through Amish Country to get to Kitchen Kettle Village. There we tasted some jams, jellies and sauces and took in some shops. The winner at the village was this great playground and petting zoo!

Micah loved looking out the window of the playhouse!

After Amish Country we drove into Lancaster City for dinner at Isaac's - Yummy! Everyone loved their dinner. Then Micah wanted to show his friends the Jumping Fountain. There was no hesitation this time - Micah jumped right in! The kids loved it!

Right in the middle of the fun!

The next morning we saw the Springers' off on their journey with a stop in Hershey. We went to chocolate world to see how Hershey's Chocolate is made. The kids enjoyed their tour ride and free samples! I guess we did a pretty good job representing Lancaster, because the Springer kids want to spend their summers there!
