Vacationing in Virginia

We spent our second week of Christmas break on vacation with Andrew's family. This was truly a restful and refreshing time for us after a busy semester! We were thankful that we had the opportunity to get away.


Since our week in PA was so busy, we added the stop at Chocolate World on our way to Virginia. We wanted Susy and Ana to be able to see how Hershey's Chocolate is made. It was also Micah's first trip, and he thoroughly enjoyed it!


We stayed in cabins in the mountains of Virginia, and took advantage of the recreation activities at the resort. Micah had fun with Ana on the swings! He had so much fun he decided to try it again himself.

We also did a lot of napping!

Nana and Micah enjoyed their mornings together. Micah would get up and have breakfast and play with Nana, while Mommy & Daddy slept in. Thanks Nana!

We went swimming a couple of times. All the Garner grandchildren are water babies! (Well, I guess Jude has graduated to the title of "fish!") You can see that Micah is having so much fun in the water with Mommy, he's clapping! Yay swimming pool!

Jude got to take a pony ride! He really liked it...although the mystery still remains....was his pony named Windy or Wendy?....it depends on where you are from, I guess...


Micah had lots of fun playing with his cousins in our cabin! He loves being around other kids, he would get so excited when Jude and Kate would arrive every day, He just wanted to love on them and hug them! This often overwhelmed Kate though...poor thing, she would start crying, which would prompt Micah to console her, which would just make things worse! It was so precious to watch Micah's love for his cousins, and to see their love for him as well. Some other highlights from our week were taking a wagon ride around the resort grounds, a trip into Charlottesville, and visiting James Madison's house. It was a great time with our family - we can't wait to see everyone again in June!
