After church one Sunday, before the girls arrived, we went to the Riverbanks Zoo & Botanical Gardens. We had heard great things about the zoo & gardens, and decided to get a family membership. We are very glad that we did! It is a very nice zoo, although the day that we went was very hot. By the time that we got to the elephants, Micah was very tired and a little cranky. He was more interested in the wooden post that he could hit, and the shiny metal binocular viewer than looking at the elephants! Daddy was pretty disappointed. To Micah's defense, the elephants had covered themselves in mud to try to keep cool, so they kind of blended in to the background of their habitat. Micah did enjoy posing with Daddy on the elephant sculpture though! We haven't gotten to go back to the zoo yet, we want to make sure we can go when the weather is a little cooler!
