Disney Day One - Epcot!

Once again we've gotten very behind in chronicling our life on the blog...but since this baby, as Andrew puts it, "has settled in for a long winter's nap," I have some time on my hands to try and catch up. At the beginning of June, we headed to Orlando for our "last trip to Disney," at least for a while! We finally used up all our days we had left from our honeymoon on this trip! Somehow we were able to stretch one trip into five...my husband is very resourceful, and I love him for that! Thanks also to Andrew's parents for allowing us to use their timeshare, we had a beautiful suite for the week that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our first day in the parks we went to Epcot!

Riding the Seas with Nemo was definitely Micah's favorite ride of the day! We rode it early on in the morning and then a few more times that afternoon! Micah liked riding through the aquarium in the clam shells looking for Nemo. He also enjoyed Turtle Talk with Crush and seeing Nemo & his friends up close in the exhibits.

Mommy & Micah being eaten by Bruce the shark!

We had to wait a little longer this time to visit with Mickey Mouse & his friends, but Micah didn't mind. They showed classic Mickey cartoons while you waited, and Micah enjoyed taking them in. He did great with meeting everyone, but he definitely warmed up to them as we went along, so it would have been better if Mickey was last instead of first!

Posing with Minnie Mouse

More of a smile with Donald!

Having a dance party with Goofy!!

Ta-da! Micah loved getting to meet all his Mickey Mouse Pals!

Mr. Micah is too smart for his own good! By the time we got through the line inside visiting the characters, Micah had noticed many children with autograph books and pens, and was convinced that it was a requirement to have one when meeting all his Disney friends. We caved - mainly because there were books that had spaces for photos to go next to the autographs, and thought that would be a nice keepsake. However, when you purchase the books they are shrink-wrapped, so you can't see inside, and we accidentally bought a plain old book with just pages for signing, no picture holders! So now Micah is the proud owner of TWO autograph books - which actually worked out pretty well, because the picture book had limited pages, so the other one could be used when we were meeting "secondary" characters that we didn't need to have a picture with or when we were seeing a character for the second (or third, or fourth!) time :)

Micah enjoyed playing with the jumping fountain while Daddy rode test track

We had a delicious late lunch at the Biergaren at the Germany pavilion. Micah had not fallen asleep yet, so he was VERY tired, but he was a trooper! We enjoyed our food as well as the live polka band! Soon after we left the restaurant, Micah was fast asleep, so we enjoyed a stroll through the World Showcase!

After his nap, Micah caught up with Tigger & Pooh in England!

We had a great first day together at Epcot, and we got to see and do almost everything that we wanted. We stuck around for the night show, but Micah was a little scared by the big cauldrons of fire and the fireworks, so we tried to make a quick exist ahead of the crowds. We stopped to get our picture with the "Big Ball" on our way out!
