We discovered a new phenomenon at churches in the area this year. They have Trunk or Treat, a safe way to trick or treat. Instead of going from house to house, you go from car to car in the church's parking lot where people often have their trunks decorated and they give out candy. These Trunk or Treat events are often accompanied by a fall festival with games, hay rides, and other activities. Most of them were happening on Saturday (we were going to be out of town), but this one was on Wednesday night, so we took Micah. It didn't take long for him to catch on to "trunk-or-treating"! He ran from car to car, lugging his Mickey pumpkin with him.
Aside from all the candy he got - some cars gave him two or three pieces each! - Micah loved the balloons that were decorating the different areas of the festival. A lady at the face painting station gave Micah one. He was so excited!!

This is my friend Carole. She is in my TEFL classes, and she is the one who told me about the fall festival. It was at her church. Micah got a pumpkin tatoo on his face at the face painting station where Carole was volunteering. Thanks again, Carole, We had so much fun!!

On the way home, sampling a kit-kat!

I liked trunk or treat! I thought your headline was funny because he had a trunk...but it turns out it was about car trunks. Still, when you wear an elephant costume it is always appropriate to say trunk or treat. :)
